NORTH YORKSHIRE GRANDPARENTS FITTER THAN EVER

“The instructors are fun, encouraging and very supportive; we would never push ourselves in this way without BMF”

When Diane Hannan’s parents passed away, after having devoted years to looking after them, she decided it was time to devote some time to herself. This is when Diane, 66, and her husband Art, 71, discovered BMF classes. The pair now trains four times a week in their local park in York and say they are enjoying fitness levels they haven’t seen for 30 years.

Diane, originally from Thirsk in North Yorkshire, commented:

We have always tried to maintain a certain level of fitness, but about five years ago, with ageing parents, grandchildren appearing on the scene and working full-time, one of the first things to go was exercise. When my parents passed away, I realised it was time to change and I wanted to get fit and active.

We were living in London at the time and I had seen a BMF training in Battersea Park so decided, with much trepidation, to join. I dragged Art along with me and we absolutely loved it and haven’t looked back since!

The pair, who have a daughter and two grandchildren, moved back to North Yorkshire a year later and continued training with BMF, the UK’s undisputed leader in outdoor fitness, in Rawcliffe Country Park in York.

Art commented:

We have both tried gyms in the past, but eventually monotony kicked in, whereas it is BMF’s variety and outdoor aspect that we both enjoy. The instructors are fun, encouraging and very supportive; we would never push ourselves in this way without BMF.

Dianne continued:

Before BMF I wouldn’t have dreamt we would love military fitness so much. With our combined ages of 137, we are now enjoying fitness levels we had in our forties and want to tell people of any age who want to get fit to come and join us, we know you will love it!
