Mother and daughter combo, Sally and Sophie Goddard

AS WE CELEBRATE MOTHER’S DAY THIS MONTH, WE THOUGHT IT APPROPRIATE TO FIND OUT HOW MANY MOTHER AND DAUGHTER BMFERS WE HAD TRAINING TOGETHER, AND INSPIRING EACH OTHER.

WE SOON FOUND OUT WE HAD PLENTY OF THEM! PARTICULARLY AT NONSUCH PARK IN CHEAM WHERE THERE ARE SIX MOTHER AND DAUGHTER COMBOS.

We caught up with mother and daughter, Sally and Sophie Goddard, to see how training together at BMF has developed their fitness, and their relationship.

Sophie ran a couple of times a week, and Sally used the gym to try and keep fit. After speaking with a friend, Sophie decided to sign up for a free trial and has never looked back. Word spread over the dinner table and mum went along to see what BMF was all about, and signed up. That was the start of their weekly BMF training ritual.

WE GO RELIGIOUSLY AT LEAST 3 TIMES A WEEK

BMF was a good fit for both mother and daughter as they love the outdoors, and this key component has seemed to invigorate them as Sophie expresses, “We go religiously at least 3 times a week and love it. Last year mum had the highest attendance for the year and I was second”.

They both highlight the importance of working out with the BMF instructors as Sophie states, “The instructors are really encouraging and push me much harder than I would ever push myself. They know my capabilities and are great at helping me achieve my goals.” Sally adds, “They encourage you throughout the class and they have fantastic knowledge and experience. BMF has made me fitter than I have ever been!”

BMF IS MORE THAN JUST FITNESS

As many people already know it’s not only the instructors that motivate you at BMF. Sophie explains, “The best thing about the classes is the people you train with, without a doubt!” Sally and Sophie both say BMF is more than just fitness, “We have made some amazing friends who we see outside of BMF all the time, be that for dinner, drinks or for a run.”

Now as Sophie no longer lives at home with her mum, going to BMF classes together enables them to see each other on a regular basis. “It’s a great way for us to spend time together and it’s lovely to have a common interest – annoying the rest of the family with our BMF chat”, laughs Sophie. And mother Sally also says, “It has created a special bond between us. We can discuss the exercises and catch up on the way to and from classes.”

After attending classes for over two years Sophie has completed half marathons and the Major Series. She never thought she would do any of that before joining BMF. Sally believes BMF offers her the best all round fitness and toning exercises she has ever done.

So, if you need any more encouragement than that to get out and train with your family we will leave the final word to Sally Goodard “I am fitter and faster, and BMF makes me smile A LOT.”
