FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is a typical class like?
The best thing about Be Military Fit is that there is no ‘typical’ class. Our purpose is to train you to be ready for action - anywhere, anytime. This means that we keep our sessions varied. You can find out more on our workouts page.
The one thing that we 'do' keep the same is session quality. Whilst each of our instructors is different, you can trust that you'll always be made to feel welcome and encouraged.
In each class, participants are divided into ability groups of around 15 people. Classes start with a warm-up followed by at least 50 minutes of individual, pairs, and team exercises, we end with a cool down and stretch.
Is it a bootcamp with a lot of shouting?
Absolutely not!
Instructors and members are a friendly bunch and we are always keen to welcome a new face. Our instructors are focused on giving you encouragement and confidence - we coach and motivate, we don't shout!
What is #TRAINANYWHERE?
#TRAINANYWHERE is our multi-venue membership package. It gives you roaming access to both your local Urban and Outdoor venue, on the provision that both venues are run by the same Be Military Fit instructor.
We introduced our #TRAINANYWHERE option to give members the full Be Military Fit experience - where we're giving you the skills and confidence to train in any circumstances, and any surroundings.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes. You need to be 16 years old or above to join us for a workout.
Do I need to check with a doctor before I attend a class?
You should complete and sign our health questionnaire before you attend a workout. It's part of the trial registration process and can be completed online.
Pregnant women and people with health conditions should consult their GP before undertaking physical exercise.
Do I need to be super-fit?
No. We know that everybody starts somewhere, and it's our purpose to help you to develop and progress.
We believe that everybody is a work in progress and whilst some people have more training experience than others, we're all capable of improving.
The team environment is great if you need motivation – we’re here to help you get fit. We believe that everybody has their own reasons for wanting to get fitter and healthier and you can rely on your Be Military Fit teammates to give you support to reach YOUR goals.
We cater for all levels of fitness by dividing the class into ability groups, blue for beginner, red for intermediate, and green for advanced. We have equal numbers of men and women at our classes of all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels. Members’ ages range from 16 to 70+.
We make sure that each individual works to their own level of fitness within the group. It’s a real skill, but our instructors have many years of experience.
Do I need to attend a fitness assessment before I start?
No, just book onto any class for your free trial. It’s a good idea to have a look at the fitness assessment page to give you a rough guide as to what group you might fit into. Most people start in the Blues. If you’re unsure, speak to the instructor when you arrive at the venue and they’ll recommend which group will suit you best.
