Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about BMF memberships, classes, and getting started.

The best thing about Be Military Fit is that there is no 'typical' class. Our purpose is to train you to be ready for action - anywhere, anytime. This means that we keep our sessions varied. The one thing that we 'do' keep the same is session quality. Whilst each of our instructors is different, you can trust that you'll always be made to feel welcome and encouraged. In each class, participants are divided into ability groups of around 15 people. Classes start with a warm-up followed by at least 50 minutes of individual, pairs, and team exercises, and end with a cool down and stretch.

Absolutely not! Instructors and members are a friendly bunch and we are always keen to welcome a new face. Our instructors are focused on giving you encouragement and confidence - we coach and motivate, we don't shout!

Yes. You need to be 16 years old or above to join us for a workout.

You should complete and sign our health questionnaire before you attend a workout. It's part of the trial registration process and can be completed online. Pregnant women and people with health conditions should consult their GP before undertaking physical exercise.

No. We know that everybody starts somewhere, and it's our purpose to help you to develop and progress. We believe that everybody is a work in progress and whilst some people have more training experience than others, we're all capable of improving. The team environment is great if you need motivation - we're here to help you get fit. We cater for all levels of fitness by dividing the class into ability groups: Blue for beginner, Red for intermediate, and Green for advanced. We have equal numbers of men and women at our classes of all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels. Members' ages range from 16 to 70+. We make sure that each individual works to their own level of fitness within the group.

No, just book onto any class for your free trial. Most people start in the Blues (beginner group). If you're unsure, speak to the instructor when you arrive at the venue and they'll recommend which group will suit you best.

We divide our classes into three ability groups to ensure everyone trains at the right level: Blue (beginner), Red (intermediate), and Green (advanced). Most people start in the Blues and progress from there.

Before attending any class, you must book via the Member App or the member area of the BMF website. This ensures the instructor is aware of your planned attendance and the class isn't overbooked.

If you are unable to attend a class that you have booked, you must cancel as soon as possible via the Member App. We reserve the right to prevent further bookings for those that fail to attend up to three classes without cancelling.

We offer four membership types: Super Value (12-month commitment, paid upfront, most discounted), Value (12-month commitment, paid monthly), Flexi (monthly with 3 months' notice to cancel), and Rolling (monthly with 7 days' notice to cancel). We also offer single class credits and 10-class packs.

You must give us written notice to cancel your membership. The notice period depends on your membership type: Rolling requires 7 days' notice, while Flexi, Value, and Super Value require 3 months' notice. Notice takes effect from the 1st of the month following the date notice is given. Important: cancelling your direct debit does not cancel your membership - you must give written notice.

Yes. You can suspend your membership for a minimum of 1 month and up to 6 months for lifestyle reasons, or up to 12 months with a GP certificate for medical reasons. You need to give at least 7 days' notice before your next payment date.

Your membership is assigned to your Home Venue. You can change your Home Venue at any point - your new membership starts on the next payment date.
