Motivational tips to keep you focused

Sadly, it is that time of year again when everybody struggles to stay motivated. The rain and plunging temperatures are key culprits! But fear not! Here are some great ways to help you stay focused on your fitness classes:
Set yourself a reason to exercise. One of my main reasons to partake in an exercise class is to feel positive and energised, created by the endorphin release from a hard session. Your focus can be anything from feeling great to looking great, but be focused.
Secondly, set yourself goals. Break these down into short and long term. A good short term goal is to introduce some enjoyment into your life using exercise. A long term goal could be losing weight or achieving rippling abs. Exercising for someone else lends itself to inconsistency. Exercise for yourself - you will be far more successful.
Keep a log of your training habits. One of the great things about BMF's outdoor bootcamps (which some people do not realise) is that clients have their own profile where attendance is logged. Therefore, you can see your frequency of training. You could even use these as your short term goals e.g aim to complete 3 fitness classes per week and, alongside this, track your fitness levels. BMF even offers regular fitness tests at your park. Results are then logged on your profile. Complete these sporadically throughout your training programme.
Train with someone else. It has been proven that people who exercise in pairs/groups are more likely to exercise consistently. Group/pair training creates a positive and competitive atmosphere. Why not bring a friend to BMF to compete against?!
For speedier results, concentrate on correct technique. Instructors adjust poor mechanics during sessions predominantly to prevent injury. But this will also give you improved results at a quicker rate.
As we plummet into winter, the weather deteriorates. Wearing the right gear is crucial. Correct clothing and footwear make an immediate difference to your comfort levels during your exercise class.
Remember that exercise has to be challenging but also enjoyable to promote perseverance!
