Glove Review

It may have been mild so far this winter, but boy has it been wet! We have teamed up withCotswold Outdoor, Wandsworth to field-test and review some of their most popular outdoor exercise gloves. Gloves are an essential part of BMF kit at this time of year, so we took them out and put them through their paces in a class to see how they would hold up. Here is what we made of them:

RAB VR Tour Glove - £27.50:  Four Stars

The RAB feels like the best-made glove but is also the most expensive. It has a leather palm, which is sturdy and robust as well as a Pertex outer layer and a micro fleece inner. The glove is wind resistant and water resistant, enough for a shower but not if you put your hands in a puddle. It is comfortable and very warm, almost too warm. The glove is great but it doesn’t feel like a glove for a BMF class, I would however recommend this glove for any outdoor walking/hiking activity.

Lowe Alpine Cyclone Glove - £23: Four Stars

These gloves are made of Polartec Windpro, which is great at keeping your hands warm even in a strong wind. They are close fitting due to the elastic nature of the material however they are not waterproof enough to keep water out if your hands are on wet ground. They are a very warm and well-fitting glove and I would recommend them to anyone who wanted a glove to wear while out running.

Extremities Velo Glove - £25 Five Stars

The Windstopper material in these gloves ensures your hands stay warm in even the toughest wind and the gloves are also water resistant enough to withstand most press up sessions in anything but the worst puddles. They are close fitting giving good dexterity and the dot pattern on the palm gives excellent grip when exercising. I would thoroughly recommend these gloves to anyone looking at gloves for either BMF or for any other outdoor activity.

So there you have it! Don’t let the rain become your excuse not to keep fit all year round.
