BMF for 24 hours straight!

Members of BMF Frimley recently held a sponsored 24-hour challenge. On the Saturday at 10am, members gathered to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and the Royal British Legion. The event was suggested by BMF member Mark Walker, who recently lost his mother to cancer and wanted to give something back to those who supported her throughout her illness.

Participants in the challenge took on exercises such as the Devil's Circuit, Pyramid of Pain and Mobile Phone Circuit in five x four-hour sessions, with an hour to rest and refuel between each session block.

It finished with the final session at 9am on Sunday, followed by well-deserved bacon rolls to help the participants recover. The money raised will go to Macmillan Cancer Support and The Royal British Legion, BMF's chosen charity.

Byron Williams, BMF Park Manager at Frimley Lodge said, "We're always ready to support our members. When Mark approached us about the 24-hour fitness class, we were really keen to be involved, especially as it's for such a fantastic cause. It was great to see our members support one of our own. We all supported each other through some of the tougher moments of the challenge. That's the great buzz and community aspect that BMF encourages."

20 members completed the entire 24 hours, with a minimum of 27 BMF members at each session, even in the middle of the night.

During the day, the class was attended by over 40 people each hour, with multiple BMF instructors taking the group sessions. The challenge raised £7,000. A fantastic effort from everyone at BMF Frimley Lodge!
