If December is a hazy blur of mince pies, second and third helpings of dinner, all washed down with copious amounts of mulled wine, you may be looking for a little workout help to get yourself back in shape in the new year.
British Military Fitness and Savsé have teamed up to bring you a full-body workout that you can do from the comfort of your own home.
Before your workout
Make sure you eat little and often throughout the day to ensure your body remains fuelled. This doesn’t mean regularly turning to the tub of Christmas chocolates on the side (throw these in the bin or hide them!) which will cause a sudden spike in your blood sugar followed by an insulin drop which will make you feel hungry and unsatiated again. Instead, a handful of nuts or a piece of fruit should keep those hunger pangs at bay.
The workout
Perform exercises 1 – 10 doing 10 reps of each set, then give yourself a 1 minute rest. Then do exercises 2-10 with just 9 reps (1 min rest), 3-10 with 8 reps (1 min rest) etc until you complete all exercises.
Once you’ve done this workout for a couple of days, simply change the order of the exercises for an easy way to mix up your workout. For example, work bottom to top, or increase (rather than decrease) your reps from 1 to 10.
If you’d prefer a little human encouragement and interaction, why not try a British Military Fitness class. The first class is absolultely free and is suitable for all fitness abilities. Click here for a free class >
After your workout
This will be a fairly intense session so it’s important to replenish your muscles afterwards. For a quick protein hit, try cold-pressed, HPP protein smoothies (blast, smash and punch) from Savsé as these all contain 10% whey protein so are a good post-workout fix for both men & women.
