The King George V Playing Fields in Effingham is a vast, undulating outdoor fitness playground, perfect for fun and challenging BMF sessions. The home of Effingham & Leatherhead Rugby Club, there are changing rooms and toilets available in the clubhouse and an outdoor café open all year round that offers a range of fresh hot and cold meals and beverages, perfect for refueling after your BMF workout!

Members can also attend workouts at the following BMF parks when they join up: Woking Park, Chobham Place Woods and Laleham Park. Check out the timetables at these parks too to see what great value a BMF membership can bring you!

BMF incorporates the latest military methodology combined with cutting-edge training programmes to deliver results-driven workouts. These aspects are deeply rooted in a community fitness, so we can provide a fun yet challenging workout. Matt Jones

Matt Jones


Matt has been a BMF member for well over a decade and has always been passionate about fitness, staying active and taking on new challenges. A keen runner from an early age, Matt then progressed to multi-event sports and activities and is now a seasoned triathlete and adventure racer. And when he’s not doing these events his Siberian husky ensures he stays active!

Following a career in the financial markets in London and in senior finance positions in industry where he led and motivated numerous teams, Matt has now jumped off the corporate bandwagon in order to take his enthusiasm for fitness to the next level with BMF and develop fun, challenging and rewarding outdoor fitness programmes that are accessible to anyone.

Matt has qualified as a level 2 fitness instructor and level 3 personal trainer and will obtain further fitness qualifications so that he can pass on even more knowledge to members to improve their own health, wellbeing, and fitness.
